The most recent Velonews compares the Scott FOIL 10, Specialized S-Works Venge, Cervelo S5 VWD, and Litespeed C1. These four bicycles were tested and the FOIL 10 was the editor’s choice for best aero road bicycle. The FOIL 10 (Shimano Dura-ace) was the stiffest and had the best acceleration out of the review, and is 0.45lbs heavier than the Specialized Venge (SRAM Red).
After reading this article I would have liked to see a test of either all Dura-Ace or SRAM Red models of these aero road bicycles, and not a mix of Red and Dura-Ace. Especially since the Scott FOIL Team is 0.85lbs lighter than the FOIL 10 taking in consideration for weight of wheelset and groupset. Comparing the FOIL Team to the S-Works Venge, respectively puts their weight at 14.53lbs and 14.66lbs. On price point the FOIL Team is $8400, while the S-Works Venge is $8800. Going with the FOIL Team saves the customer $400 for a lighter, stiffer, and more responsive aero road bicycle.
On the flipside of this comparison would be between the Dura-Ace models of Scott and Specialized. The Dura-Ace S-Works Venge compared to the S-Works Venge SRAM is 0.67lbs, since all but the groupsets are the same between the two models (comparison chart.) The S-Works Venge DA will weigh in at 15.33lbs, compared to the FOIL 10 which weighs in at 15.2lbs. The price discrepancy between the FOIL 10 (MSRP $7500) and S-works Venge DA (MSRP $9200) is $1700, in favor of the FOIL 10.
In the end price/performance/weight the Scott FOIL beats the Specialized S-Works Venge on both Shimano Dura-ace and SRAM Red models.
